Scorpion (CBS Monday 9pm)

The best way I can describe this show is The Big Bang Theory meets every Michael Bay film ever. I don’t like either of those, so you’d think I’d hate Scorpion – but I don’t. I don’t love it either though.

Robert Patrick stars at Cabe Gallo, who enlists the help of a group of computer geeks and super geniuses to help solve the world’s evils – in the pilot’s case it means helping land planes in the Los Angeles area after all the communication equipment fails. The geeks save the world! We all knew we could do it.

I liked the cast, and the writing ain’t half bad either, so I can’t pin point exactly why I can’t come out and say I love it. Perhaps its the few cheesy lines spouted out from time to time, or perhaps it’s the ever so obvious ‘we’re going to have a romantic tryst’ between the two lead characters. I don’t really know.

What I do know though is I was entertained – and hey, isn’t that what television is all about?  Yup.

I’m going to keep this review rather short since by now most of you will probably have watched it, and like I’ve already stated I don’t really know where I stand on this show. I like to give new shows several episodes to find their feet, and I’ll certainly be tuning in again to Scorpion. Perhaps after a few weeks I can come back with a more definitive opinion, but in the mean time I’d like to hear what you all think. Will you be watching again? Did you love it? Did you hate it?
